Karachi, Today, In an incident, a bomb ripped through a hospital in Quetta in Pakistan's restive southwestern Balochistan province followed by gunfire, due to which, at least 25 people were today killed and 35 others injured.

Unidentified assailants shot Balochistan Bar Association (BA) Advocate Bilal Anwar Kasi in the provincial capital after which loud explosion was heard.

According to police and rescue officials, “the bomb exploded as lawyers brought Balochistan Bar Association's President Bilal Kasi, who was gunned down to the hospital”.

When the explosion occurred, lawyers and journalists had gathered at the emergency department where Bilal Kasi's body was brought.

As per the reports, most of the injured are lawyers and at least 25 people were killed and 35 injured in the blast.

According to police officials, “unidentified armed men opened fire at Advocate Kasi's car near Quetta's Mengal Chowk on Manno Jan road”.

The former president was shifted to Civil Hospital, where he succumbed to injuries.
