Blast in east Congo; 32 Indian peacekeepers killed

Kinshasa: on Tuesday, an explosion occurred at in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo city of Goma killing a child and injuring 32 Indian peacekeepers.

According to the UN mission, the reason behind the blast is yet to be ascertained, and the peacekeepers were hit by the blast, when they were out for morning walk in Goma neighbourhood of Keyshero.

Ismael Salumu, an imam at a nearby mosque, said, “three peacekeepers were killed. We just heard the explosion and the cries. We then ran over to see”.
