Kairo: In a Facebook statement, El-Tayyeb condemned the actions of the Israeli military in Gaza, characterizing them as intense bombing, killing, disruption of essential services, and suppression of information related to massacres and war crimes. He unequivocally labeled these actions as blind terrorism and a blatant violation of both legal and humanitarian standards.
On Friday evening, the Israeli military announced that its ground forces were intensifying their operations in the Gaza Strip, raising concerns of a potential full-scale ground invasion of the besieged region.
Israeli airstrikes on Friday evening severely disrupted all communication infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, as reported by the Palestinian telecom provider, Paltel.
El-Tayyeb's statement urged the global community to condemn these attacks and take resolute measures to halt the assault on Gaza. He emphasized that it is the moral obligation of Arab and Islamic nations, as well as all compassionate individuals worldwide, to unite in finding an immediate solution to rescue the oppressed Palestinian people. He concluded by stating that history will never forgive those who fail to defend innocent Palestinians or support the ongoing Zionist terrorism.
In a separate statement on Friday night, Egypt's Grand Mufti Shawki Allam also strongly denounced the attacks, characterizing them as full-fledged war crimes. He highlighted that these heinous crimes and brutal aggressions are further additions to the series of Israeli transgressions against the Palestinian people, who are rightfully demanding their legitimate rights. Allam criticized the occupying forces for violating international laws and humanitarian principles.
Furthermore, he called upon the international community, as well as relevant organizations and institutions, to swiftly intervene and put an end to the Israeli aggressions against Palestinians and civilian facilities. He emphasized the urgency of ending the collective punishment imposed by the Israeli occupation on the Palestinian people.
According to the Palestinian health ministry, the Israeli attack has resulted in the deaths of over 7,000 Palestinians and the injury of more than 4,500.
