BMC issues guidelines ahead of Maha Shivratri which takes place on March

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued regulations for the city's Maha Shivratri celebrations, which will take place in March, as a preventive measure in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the guidelines, the temple's concerned servers must undertake god ceremonies while adhering to COVID guidelines such as mask wearing and social separation.

Maha Shivratri, the "greatest night of Lord Shiva" will be celebrated all over India on 1 March 2022. On this day, devotees would be permitted to see Lord Lingaraj from Singhadwara to Aada Katha. During the devotees' sight of Lord Lingaraj near Aada Katha, there will be no puja. 

On Maha Shivratri, Sahanmela darshan and Garvagruha darshan will be prohibited. During the ceremony, believers must keep a social distance at all times. According to BMC instructions, there will be no puja performed by worshippers during their darshan of Lord Lingaraj near Aadda Katha on Maha Shivaratri day. Priests must carry out their responsibilities as usual while adhering to COVID guidelines such as wearing masks, maintaining social distance, and maintaining hand hygiene.

From Singhadwar to Aadda Kathha, worshippers are permitted to see Lord Lingaraj.
