Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has now undertaken special measures to curb the outbreak of Covid-19 during the upcoming festivities. The move comes after vertical hike in the number of new cases being reported from the city in the past few days.

The  Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation has imposed additional stipulations with a view to contain the spread of the virus during Dola Purnima and Holi festivals.

In view of the above, the administration takes steps that during the celebration of Dola Jatra for carrying the idol, maximum six persons are allowed. However, there shall be no procession and playing of sound instruments which are likely to attract the attention of public and will cause congregation.

The persons carrying idol need to wear face mask appropriately as far as practicable. The he organizers to ensure that maximum 50 to 60 person are present at any point of time at the Dola Melan Padia with strict adherence of COV1D appropriate behaviour like maintenance of social distancing of six feet among two person and wearing of face mask.

The religious rituals may be performed inside the temple with adherence to COVID appropriate behaviour. However, no devotees are allowed inside the temple. The organizers shall have to obtain written permissions from BMC to conduct the functions with above stipulations.

On Saturday, Khordha district reported the highest 51 new Covid-19 cases in the State.
