The Delhi government will now also pay board examination fees for the students of schools coming through NDMC and Delhi Cantonment. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced in this regard on Monday 30 December 2019. He said that this decision was taken in the cabinet meeting. In a meeting held earlier, the Delhi government said that the government will pay the board examination fees of all government schools. But now it has been decided in the cabinet meeting that the board examination fee of the students of schools run by NDMC and Delhi Cantonment can also be paid.

A few months ago, Kejriwal said that the Delhi government will pay the CBSE examination fee of around 3.14 lakh students of 10th and 12th standard in Delhi. It was said that this facility will be provided to the students of the school, a grant, and correspondence with the schools of Delhi Government. For this, the government may have to spend Rs 57 crore every year. The officials said that the Directorate of Education bears the entire expenses of the home examination under the Delhi government's scheme. This does not put a burden on the parents. The Delhi government will pay this to the CBSE through the Directorate of Education. The scheme may come into force from the current session 2019-20. There were 1,79,914 students of class X and 1,33,802 students of class XII. Now these numbers will increase further.
