Ahmedabad: Four people have lost their lives on the spot after a boiler exploded at a company near Vadsar Bridge in Vadodara district of Gujarat. The deceased included a woman and her four-year-old daughter. Ten employees of the company were reportedly badly injured in boiler blasts at Canton Laboratories in GIDC. They were taken to local hospitals for treatment. An inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the exact cause of the blast. The boiler is estimated to explode due to overheating.

The wall of the neighbouring company also collapsed after the powerful blast. The walls of buildings near the company were broken. The belongings of nearby houses were also scattered. The glass of buildings in the area of about one and a half kilometers was broken. Scared people ran out of the houses. Several employees of the company were injured when the boiler exploded. All these injured were admitted to the hospital by ambulance. Police and fire teams rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident.

The fire brigade controlled the fire after an hour's hard work. According to Vadodara fire station official Nikunj Azad, houses were illegally built next to the boiler on behalf of the company. These houses are occupied by workers and their families. Estimates that the boiler is ripped off due to overheating and lack of proper maintenance. An inquiry has been ordered into the matter for more details of the reasons. Further action will then be taken.
