Today is the 83rd birth anniversary of Bollywood superstar Sanjeev Kumar. Sanjeev Kumar's real name was Harihar Jethalal Jariwala. He was one of the most talented actors in Hindi films. He not only gave amazing and classic films to the Entertainment world but also memorable characters that are still fresh in the minds of cinema lovers. From thrillers and comedy to romance, he played all the roles effortlessly and did not mind playing non-glamorous roles.

Sanjeev Kumar was born on July 9, 1938, in Gujarat. A few years later, his entire family moved to Mumbai. Sanjeev Kumar belonged to a well-to-do family. He chose the world of acting not because of compulsion or financial constraints but because of his interest. Sanjeev Kumar first learned theatre at IPTA and Indian National Theatre. After which he entered the world of cinema for the first time in 1960 with the movie Hum Hindustani made under the banner Hindi of The Filmalaya.

Sanjeev Kumar was seen playing the role of a police officer in the film Hum Hindustani. His role was only two minutes but he left a different impression on the big screen with this role. Sanjeev never looked back after that. Sanjeev Kumar had great success with the movie Khilona which was released in 1970. He then distinguished himself as an actor. Sanjeev Kumar won the National Award for films Dastak (1970) and Koshish (1972). Sanjeev Kumar was also awarded the Filmfare Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor Award.
