In an interaction with Pune Mirror, Saroj Khan expressed her disappointment and said that “Bollywood songs have hit an all-time low”.  She's of the view that the actors these days dress so similarly that one can't even differentiate between heroines. She said,  “Bollywood songs have hit an all-time low. None of the songs today are memorable and you can't differentiate between heroines, who look and dress the same. I have to ask my kids who the actress is.” While in the '80s and '90s, she added, “every heroine was distinctive and no one was afraid of close-ups.”

The Choreographer went on to say that she'd love to see traditional Indian dance on the screen again and that people should stop copying Western dance. She has been quoted as saying, “People are trying to copy western dance, but gymnastics is meant for circus people. Why go into living rooms in the West and show them their own moves when people abroad love and want to learn our todas and  taals?”
