Kabul: A very shocking news related to the world of cricket has come out in Afghanistan. Afghanistan's Shadgiza Cricket League was rocked by a bomb blast at the Kabul International Stadium on Friday (July 29). The incident took place during the 22nd league match of the tournament, which was played between Pamir Zalmi and Band-e-Amir Dragons. However, the fact remains that no one lost their lives, but four people were injured.
Four spectators were injured in the bomb blast in the stadium's stand. With the help of the stadium and the local police, they were taken to the hospital and then the match resumed. An Official of the Afghanistan Cricket Board said that Kabul Police reached the spot and handled the situation. After an hour, the match was started according to the DLS method. It was allowed by the police.
Pamir Zalmi had scored 159 for 5 in his 20 overs before the chase was delayed due to the bomb blast. Later, the Band-a-Amir Dragons got a target of 94 runs in 10 overs according to DLS, which the team achieved with 17 balls and nine wickets remaining. Band-e-Amir's Afghanistan all-rounder Karim Janat told Cricbuzz that the players are not worried even after the shocking incident and hoped that the tournament will prepare them well for the T20 challenges ahead.
