Kabul: Several people have been reported killed in a bomb blast outside a mosque in Afghanistan's capital Kabul. The Taliban, a terror group, said that the door to enter the mosque was targeted during the bomb blast. The incident took place on Sunday (October 3, 2021). A special prayer meeting was organized after the death of Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid's Ammi when the bomb exploded. 8 people are said to have died and 20 injured in the blast.

The blast took place in the Idgah Masjid complex. Ahmadullah, a nearby shopkeeper, said that he heard a bomb blast from the mosque, which was followed by firing. Even before the bomb blast, the Taliban had stopped movement on the roads. However, no one has taken responsibility for the bomb blast so far. But, after the Taliban regime started, ISIL is mostly indulging in such acts.

The ISIL has a good presence in the eastern province of Nangarhar and considers the Taliban its enemy. The organization has claimed responsibility for several such attacks in Jalalabad, the capital of the province. However, such incidents have rarely occurred in Kabul. The Taliban have recently destroyed ISIL targets in Parwan province, north of Kabul. The operation was carried out after 4 Taliban were injured in a roadside bomb blast.
