Following the scare in Delhi-NCR, where more than 130 schools faced similar threats, three schools in Ahmedabad have now received bomb threats via email, as reported by news agency ANI on Monday.
Ahmedabad Police are currently investigating the matter, with further updates on the situation anticipated soon.
Previously in Delhi-NCR, the Special Cell of Delhi Police took action by registering a case under Section 120B of the IPC and IPC 506 against unidentified individuals for sending threatening emails to schools. The Counter Intelligence Team of the Special Cell will handle the investigation, with the content of the emails cited in the FIR.
In response to the threats, the Delhi government issued an advisory urging schools to regularly monitor their official emails and promptly report any potential threats to authorities.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) released an official statement regarding the matter, assuring the public that the email threats appeared to be false alarms. They emphasized that there was no cause for panic and that security measures were being implemented according to established protocols by Delhi Police and security agencies.
In light of the recent incidents, security forces in Delhi-NCR have ramped up preparedness with mock drills conducted across various critical locations in the city, including schools, airports, metro stations, and government buildings, according to officials.
