Bomb Threats Target Schools in Delhi and Noida, Police Launch Investigation

NEW DELHI: Many schools in Delhi and Noida got bomb threats via email on Friday (February 7, 2025)  morning, Police action Investigations are underway, and security measures are being strictly followed.

In Delhi, Ahlcon International School in Mayur Vihar1 reported the threat to Pandav Nagar police station. The email, sent to the school principal, was received at 6.40-am. A control room was alerted and deployed  the bomb disposal squad. Police officers and security teams inspected the premises but found nothing suspicious.

The school informed parents about the situation via email, announcing that the campus would remain closed for the day as a safety precaution.

In Noida, Shiv Nadar School also received a similar threat. The Noida police, along with bomb squads, fire department personnel, and dog squads, fully checked the premises. "Senior officers are at the scene, and a cyber team is investigating the email. We urge people not to panic or spread rumors," Noida police said.

St. Stephen’s College in North Delhi was another institution targeted. According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (North District), the college got a bomb threat via e-mail at 7.42 AM. The bomb detection team was immediately deployed for inspection.

This incident follows a series of hoax bomb threats that recently caused panic across Delhi. Earlier, Delhi Police arrested a youth suspected for sending threatening emails to more than 400 schools. The cybercrime team tracked him down through advanced digital investigation methods. A laptop and two mobile phones were seized.

Earlier, on January 8, 2025, about 23 schools in Delhi received bomb threats, leading to mass evacuations, closures, and disruptions to academic activities. Authorities are continuing their probe to prevent such incidents in the future.
