These days there is shortage in many parts of the medicine used to treat black fungus. The Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court has now slammed the Central government on the issue last Thursday. In fact, the court has said, "Why are you not able to muster the courage to say to the Principal Bench that the Aurangabad Bench should not listen to the matter?"
In fact, at the beginning of the hearing, the court was informed that the principal bench of the Bombay High Court was also hearing the black fungus issue, in which case the hearing could be postponed. On the other hand, the Aurangabad bench refused to do so and sought details about the black fungus patients. The court expressed concern over the supply of Amphotericin B.
In fact, the court said that if there is a shortage, the number of deaths due to black fungus will not come down. When the Centre sought some time during the hearing, the court said in a stern tone that "they are tired of hearing this. With this, the court has now asked the Centre to respond in the June 16 hearing."
