Mumbai: The Bombay High Court has approved the bail of the accused and former CEO of Broadcast Audience Research Council in the Television Rating Points (TRP) scam case. The bail of former BARC CEO Partho Dasgupta has been accepted today i.e. on Tuesday. In this case, Justice PD Naik has approved the bail of Partho Dasgupta on a personal bond of two lakh rupees and two sureties capable of giving the same amount.
Today, the court has allowed Partho Dasgupta to deposit a provisional cash bail of the same amount for six weeks. With this, it has been said that till then they will have to provide two sureties. If you all remember, Partho Dasgupta filed a petition in the High Court in the month of January this year. If you know, before the Sessions Court rejected his bail plea. Indeed, the sessions court had earlier said, "It seems that Dasgupta played an important role in the scam and he is allegedly the" main conspirator."
With this, Partho Dasgupta was arrested on December 24 last year and he has been in jail since then. Talking about the allegations on Partho Dasgupta, he is accused of misusing his position. Apart from this, he is also accused of tampering with TRP by colluding with ARG Outlier Media, which runs Republic TV and the editor-in-chief of this TV, Arnab Goswami.
