Mumbai: The Bombay High Court has quashed the single bench order of Justice Madhav Jamdar. It said Maharashtra government minister Nawab Malik could make a statement against NCB regional director Sameer Wankhede as he is an officer. Justice Jamdar, however, asked Malik to confirm everything before posting social media posts or speaking out against Wankhede.

Wankhede's father Dnyandev Wankhede had filed a defamation case against Malik during the Diwali holiday. Justice Jamdar heard the suit in detail and said malik had made false statements because of hatred and resentment. Malik should have taken proper precautions in verification before speaking against Wankhede. Wankhede immediately filed an appeal against Justice Jamdar's order saying how the court did not pass the order in his favour when the judge made the two remarks.

A bench of Justices SJ Kathawala and Milind Jadhav had lashed out at Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik. The reprimand was for making public statements against Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) official Sameer Wankhede. Malik then had to say that he would not make any statement against Wankhede till December 9. Judge Kathawala of Bombay High Court said that what kind of publicity does Nawab Malik want. Being in the post of a minister, does such work suit him? The division bench said that the judges of the single bench will hear the matter till March 28 and till then Malik will not make any public statement against Wankhede.
