High Court's major verdict in Gulshan Kumar murder case, killer Abdul Rauf fled to Bangladesh earlier

New Delhi: The Bombay High Court has issued a final verdict related to the Gulshan Kumar murder case. It upholds the conviction of Abdul Rauf alias Dawood Merchant, a convict in the murder. Let us tell you that Abdul Rauf is the partner of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. He was sentenced to life imprisonment by the sessions court. The high court made it clear that Abdul Rauf did not deserve any generosity as he had fled to Bangladesh earlier.

Let us tell you that Gulshan Kumar, the owner of the T-Series company, was murdered in Mumbai's Juhu area on August 12, 1997. Some people were arrested, while others are absconding. Justice Jadhav and Justice Borkar ruled on the petition. Abdul Rauf was convicted in the Gulshan Kumar murder case. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in April 2002. Then in 2009 he came out on bail and fled to Bangladesh. He was later brought to India from Bangladesh.

Total of four petitions relating to Gulshan Kumar had come to the Bombay High Court. Three appeals were against the conviction of Abdul Rauf, Rakesh Chanchala Pinnam and Rakesh Khaokar. Another petition was filed by the Maharashtra government. It was against the acquittal of Bollywood producer Ramesh Taurani. He was accused of instigating the murder. The Bombay High Court has said that the applications of the rest of the convicts will be heard in part.
