Bommai to take decision on COVID-19 lifting after consulting experts

Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai said on Wednesday that the state government will consult experts before making a decision on COVID-19 rules and relaxation.

Sharing details before media, Bommai stated, "Despite the fact that the number of COVID-19 cases in the state is increasing, hospitals are reporting fewer COVID cases. It is advised that the OPD (Out Patient Department) be strengthened." "It is critical to follow COVID-19 guidelines. The judgments will be made once the expert reviews the information and presents the complete picture to us on Friday." "All of them will be resolved following the experts' report at the next meeting," the chief minister replied when asked about lifting the weekend curfew.

Meanwhile, Bommai said a video conference with district officials about the COVID-19 control and vaccination campaign was held on Tuesday. District administrators have been told to boost vaccination rates in areas where coverage is poor. He said the administration was also told to give a 'precaution dose' to health and frontline employees.

Because 94 percent of patients are in home isolation, the department of health keeps in touch with affected persons and provides medical supplies, according to Bommai.

The chief minister further stated that COVID-19 infections are predicted to surge in February in this city. Experts who studied the trend in many states expected that a delayed wave would arrive in the latter week of January or the first week of February.
