Indian duo of Rohan Bopanna and Matwe Middlecoop showed a sense of not giving up, saving five match points and the defending Wimbledon champion duo of Mate Pavic and Nicole McTich were knocked out of the French Open Tennis Grand Slam here on Saturday. In the third round match of the men's doubles fork, Rohan Bopanna's serve was as dangerous as ever and his volley was also sharp while his Netherlands partner also showed great restraint under pressure.

The Bopanna-Middlekoop pair defeated the duo of Pavitch and McTitch 6-7, 7-6, 7-6 in a match that lasted 2 hours and 32 minutes. Bopanna has thus managed to equal his best performance in the clay-court major by reaching the quarterfinals. He's done it four times before.

Pavic-McTich won in the first set after which both the pairs remained tied with the victory in the second set of the Bopanna-Middlecoop pair. It was only in the opening game of the third set that the Pair of Pavich-Mektich got a chance to break when Middlecoop's forehand went on long. Middlecoop had a brilliant first serve but Maketich made a strong return and it was not difficult for them to take a 2-0 lead. Bopanna had retained his service.
