Shahid Kapoor ‘s Batti Gul Meter Chalu and Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s manto got released this Friday. Fans were eagerly waiting for these movies and it was expected that both movies can do well at the box office. Shahid, Shraddha and Divyendra sharma starrer social drama has earned 6.76 cr. whereas Nawaz film gat a very slow start and it have earned around 1 to 1.5 lakh rupees only.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh had shared the box office collection of the movie through his twitter account. He tweeted, “BattiGulMeterChalu has a low Day 1, despite partial holiday… Biz will have to multiply two-fold or three-fold on Day 2 and Day 3 for a respectable weekend total… Fri ₹ 6.76 cr. India biz. #BGMC.

Shree Narayan Singh directed Batti Gul Meter Chalu is a social drama which is based in small town in Uttarakhand. It is story of three childhood friends S.K (Shahid Kapoor), Nauti (Shraddha Kapoor), and Tripathi (Divyendu Sharma). Tripathi commits suicide in the film due to high electric bills whereas S.K fight against a private electricity bill.
Nawaz’s manto is biopic of legendary Saadat Hasan Manto. The film is written and directed by Nandita Das. Apart from Nawaz, Rasika Dugal,Rishi Kapoor, Tahir raj Bhasin are also in the pivotal role.
