Hindi cinema director Ashutosh Gowariker's ambitious film Panipat is losing the battle at box office. The film has collected only 29 crores in 10 days of release. Panipat's collections have been disappointing for the second weekend. Panipat's second week began on 13 December. After protests over the portrayal of Maharaja Surajmal in the film this week, the makers had re-released Panipat by about 12 minutes in length, but this change does not appear to have a positive impact on the future of the film.
#Panipat has clearly underperformed, despite improvement on [second] Sat and Sun... #Mumbai circuit contributes mainly [45 lacs, 83 lacs, 94 lacs in Weekend 2]... Remaining circuits very poor... [Week 2] Fri 69 lakhs, Sat 1.26 cr, Sun 1.48 cr. Total: ₹ 29.11 cr. #India biz.

According to the media reporter, the film has mostly received collections from the Mumbai circuit, where it collected 45 lakh, 83 lakh and 94 lakh rupees respectively on all three days of the weekend.
