Diwali is the festival of sweets, decoration, crackers, rituals and in bollywood of film releases. This Diwali two big budget bollywoood movies Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu and Ajay Devgn’s Thank God released but as per the predictions the movue’s earning is expected to be low.

Akshay Kumar’s action adventure will open well at around ₹12-14 crore but will struggle to meet the lofty Diwali release standards set by the actor’s own film Sooryavanshi. Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu has generated the better buzz. The film is expected to beat its rival--Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra’s Thank God.

Ram Setu may just about manage to earn more than half of what Sooryavanshi According to a Box office Report, Ram Setu has seen advance booking of ₹1.7 crore for day one by Monday evening. The figure is expected to reach around ₹2 crore by the time advance booking closes later on Monday night. The film is likely to earn somewhere around ₹12-14 crore on day one in nett domestic collections. The figure can go as high as ₹16-17 crore if it is received well by critics and generates positive word of mouth. The figure is higher than what Thank God is expected to rake in on Tuesday ( ₹10-12).

Speaking about Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra’s Thank God. According to Box office reports, the film has sold tickets worth ₹1.08 crore in advance bookings for day one. It is likely to finish somewhere in excess of ₹1.25 crore by the time advance bookings end later on Monday night. The figure is low if compared to some of the recent double-digit openers (films that netted ₹10 crore or more) but trade sources indicate that owing to Goverdhan Pooja holiday in most parts of the country on release day, it is likely to earn somewhere around ₹10-12 crore on day one.
