Gorakhpur: The bodies of the young man and the young girl were found hanging from the tree on Tuesday morning in the West Siwan village of Cathvalia police station area of Khorabar. Police rushed to the spot to investigate the case. Honour killings are being feared.

As per the information received from the sources, the deceased girl was identified as Pooja Putri Prakash, a resident of Kathvalia village, while the young man was identified as Dharmendra Putra Sarabjit, a resident of jungle Sikri village in Khorabar police station area. These two are interlinked. When villagers turned to the fields on Tuesday morning, bodies of both outside the village were seen hanging from the tree. It was immediately reported to the police.

Police launch investigation

With this, police rushed to the spot and found that the deceased young man had a lot of mud on his body. While the young girl's clothes were soaked. Local people have feared honour killings over the incident. Police have launched an investigation with all aspects in mind. The bodies have been sent for post mortem. Enquiries from both families are continuing. Police say the cause of death will be confirmed by the post-mortem report. Action will be taken on the basis of that.
