The world's second-ranked team, filled with brilliant players, finally became part of the final-16 era. With the help of Paulinho and Thiago Silva's brilliant goal, Brazil cut off the knockout stages by defeating world number 34 Serbia 2-0 in the final match of Group E at Spartak Stadium.

Apart from Brazil, Switzerland becomes the second team to reach the next round of this group. Although Brazil needed only one point to reach the next round and could do so by playing the draw. Brazil will now have to face Mexico's challenge on July 2, compared to the last-16.

Brazilian coach Tite changed the strategy for the star player Neymar in this useful match and he appeared to pass better than taking the shot. In addition, he took a corner kick, usually, he does not seem to do this. Silva had a goal round Brazil to meet his corner. He also had the best chance to score twice a goal post, but he could not get out of the strategy. Whenever the ball came to Neymar, the Serbian team players surrounded him, so Tite gave him the work to help in the goal instead of scoring a goal which resulted in their victory.
