Reasi: Amidst the challenging weather conditions, the newly constructed pathway leading to the sacred Mata Vaishno Devi cave shrine had to be closed, as confirmed by a police official. However, the pilgrimage is proceeding smoothly through the traditional pathway.

"The adverse weather conditions have forced the closure of the new route to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi cave shrine. Additionally, helicopter services to the shrine have also been temporarily suspended in the Reasi district," informed Senior Superintendent of Police Amit Gupta. "Nevertheless, the pilgrimage continues uninterrupted through the old pathway."

Simultaneously, the incessant rainfall in Jammu and Kashmir has triggered landslides at various locations.
The Amarnath Yatra, too, has faced multiple interruptions due to unfavorable weather conditions in Jammu and Kashmir. This year's pilgrimage began on July 1 and will conclude on August 31, spanning a duration of 62 days.

As per an official statement, since the commencement of the Yatra on July 1, over 2,29,221 pilgrims have had the opportunity to seek darshan at the Holy Cave in Amarnath.

The Vaishno Devi yatra is an annual pilgrimage that devout followers of the goddess Durga embark upon. It attracts numerous devotees from all over. The Vaishno Devi Yatra is a sacred pilgrimage journey undertaken by millions of devotees each year to seek the blessings of the Hindu goddess Vaishno Devi. Located in the picturesque Trikuta Mountains of Jammu and Kashmir, India, the shrine is nestled at an altitude of approximately 5,200 feet. The yatra commences at the bustling town of Katra, from where devotees embark on a challenging trek of around 13 kilometers to reach the holy cave temple. Along the way, pilgrims traverse through steep terrains, breathtaking valleys, and serene surroundings, immersing themselves in the divine aura of the pilgrimage.

The chanting of religious hymns and the sound of bells fill the air, creating an atmosphere of spiritual fervor and devotion. Upon reaching the cave temple, devotees witness the sacred manifestation of the goddess in the form of three natural rock formations known as the Pindis. The darshan (sight) of Vaishno Devi is believed to grant blessings, fulfillment of wishes, and liberation from worldly troubles. The Vaishno Devi Yatra is not merely a physical journey; it is an emotional and spiritual experience that brings devotees closer to their faith and offers a sense of inner peace and contentment.
