BRICS countries meeting on Corona crisis concluded with 'Namaste'

Foreign Ministers of India, China and three other BRICS group countries met through video conferencing on Tuesday. The meeting discussed the preparedness and control of the outbreak of corona infection. At the end of the meeting, leaders of all countries concluded their discussions with greetings, introducing Indian culture.

 

 

Meanwhile, India's Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said, 'India has accepted the chairmanship of BRICS on its 15th anniversary. In 2006, we first met our Foreign Ministers in New York, after which we have travelled far and wide. The principles that guide our group have been consistent for years'.

South Africa's Foreign Minister Naledi Mandisa Pandora said that South Africa and India have submitted a proposal to the WTO for temporary exemption of certain aspects of TRIPS to facilitate wide access to technologies required for the production of vaccines, thereby enabling poor countries to produce with capacity. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said, "I express my sympathy for India for the serious impact of the second wave of corona. In this difficult time, China stands with India and all BRICS countries". All foreign ministers who participated in the BRICS meeting held a mass 'namaste' after the meeting was over.
