London: A total fine of £ 50,000 on a media watchdog in the UK over Khalsa TV (KTV) provoking the country's Sikh community indirectly for violence and terrorism, advocating violent incidents in India, and showing photos of former PM Indira Gandhi. The fine has been imposed on KTV for airing a music video and a discussion program aimed at indirectly inciting the country's Sikh community to violence and terrorism.

The UK government-approved media regulatory authority 'Office of Communications' (Ofcom) issued an order in this regard, based on the findings of the February and November 2019 investigations. The order said that KTV should broadcast the statement of the office regarding its investigation and not broadcast such music video or discussion program. In the year 2018, on July 4, 7, and 9, KTV aired a music video for the song 'Bagga and Shera.'

After investigation, Ofcom found that the music video was inciting Sikhs living in Britain to commit violence, including murder. The Office of Communications has found that there was an attempt to impress viewers with the content being served on TV, which is a violation of broadcasting rules.
