Britain's defense minister Gavin Williamson has been reportedly targeted in his cabinet for refusing a bilateral meeting with Indian Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Sitharaman was to attend the first 'Britain-India Week' meeting in London.

A news of 'The Sunday Times' has claimed that more than a month ago, a meeting was requested by the Indian authorities for the meeting. At least two ministers in Britain allegedly attempted to explain the importance of taking time to seize Williamson. These two ministers included Foreign Minister Boris Johnson.

According to the report of The Sunday Times, Williamson refused to meet Sitharaman on 20-22 June for bilateral talks about security cooperation and defense purchase. No comment has been received by the Ministry of Defense in this regard in New Delhi. The newspaper quoted a British government source as saying, "People are very upset with it."

Sources said, "India's defense budget is one of the fastest growing defense budgets in the world, in which about 50 billion dollars is spent in a year. It seems that this is Williamson's unconstitutional decision." It has been said in the news that Williamson is accused of neglecting his Indian counterpart Sitharaman and has resented the world's fastest-growing economy.

The program also included two-day conference and UK-India awards. Sitharaman was about to join but his trip was postponed because meeting with Williamson could not be decided.
