London: Britain's first Sikh woman MP Preet Kaur Gill faced severe criticism on social media over her tweet about a man being beaten to death at a Golden Temple in Amritsar, after which the MP deleted her tweet. In fact, Gill in her tweet pointed to the involvement of a 'Hindu terrorist' behind the killing of a man at the Golden Temple.
Reacting to a video of British immigration advocate Harjap Bhangal's alleged atrocities at the Golden Temple on Saturday, Labour PARTY MP Preet Kaur Gill had agreed to his message that "it was clearly a terrorist incident. Gill's tweet, which Gill deleted after criticism, read, "The Hindu terrorist was stopped from committing violence against Sikhs at the Golden Temple. The Indian High Commission in London also criticized the tweet. Many on social media also accused Gill of giving communal color to the matter.
On Saturday, a man was beaten to death by locals at the Golden Temple. Local police said the man had died by the time she reached the spot and the case is now under investigation.
