The American singer Britney Spears refuses to perform further anymore. The legal team revealed that the pop icon will not be performing again till her father Jamie Spears remains her conservator.
The Glory pop star’s lawyer, Samuel D. Ingham III, claims that the 38-year-old songwriter is afraid of her father. So, she will not perform in the middle of her ongoing conservatorship battle in court, as of November 10. The lawyer passes a statement to US Weekly saying, “My client has informed me that she is afraid of her father. She also stated that she will not perform as long as her father is in charge of her career. We are really at a crossroads.” Jamie’s one lawyer named Vivian Lee Thoreen, declared the comments to be hearsay. It also claims that the lawyer prevented the actress from speaking to Jamie. Judge Brenda Penny decided to not suspend Jamie while the hearing as it can be discussed “down the road.”
At the time of the first hearing of conservatorship in February 2008, Jamie was put in place as Britney’s conservator after a public breakdown. He still continues to be in charge of all her medical and financial decisions, among other powers. He once took back himself as a conservator of her in September of 2019, citing “personal health reasons,” but then remained conservator of her estate. The daughter pushes the court requesting to remove him entirely back in August. Many concerned fans have called for an end entirely to the conservatorship using the hashtag #FreeBritney.
