Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], May 17 (NT): Swearing-in ceremony of BS Yeddyurappa as the Chief Minister of Karnataka to begin shortly at 9 PM. Union Ministers JP Nadda, Dharmendra Pradhan and Prakash Javadekar will be present at Raj Bhavan Karnataka.

Following the midnight drama over the formation of government in Karnataka finished, though not totally, in the Supreme Court, the swearing-in of Bharatiya Janata Party's B.S. Yeddyurappa is lastly going to take oath as CM at Raj Bhavan on Thursday at 9.00 a.m.

On a related note Yeddyurappa is all set to take oath as the 23rd chief minister of Karnataka after the Supreme Court in the early hours of today morning decided not to put a stay on the swearing-in while conducting a post-midnight hearing. In Plea lodged by Congress and JD(S) for the same cited BJP's inadequate strength in the assembly to stake claim at forming the state government.

Yeddyurappa who was Born on February 27, 1943 will succeed Siddaramaiah to take the oath as the Chief Minister of Karnataka.

The three-judge bench of Justice A.K. Sikri, Justice Ashok Bhushan and Justice SA Bobde, however, did not dismiss the petition filed by the two parties and said: "This petition is a subject of hearing later on".
