According to the rules of the Ministry of Transport, Government of India, the new standard of BS6 has been implemented from April 1, the same has been completed across the country, while the sale of the stock of BS4 vehicles due to Corona virus infection has been completed. The time limit given was extended to 10 days. For the same BS6 vehicles, BS6 petrol is available in many petrol pumps across the country. Experts of the country's largest oil company Indian Oil Corporation say that the company has met the target of April 1 to implement the BS6 standard across the country. The country will use BS6 petrol and diesel. In fact, the company started selling these fuels nationwide about two weeks ago.

Tell you what is BS 6 standard and how will the country benefit from it? The central government sets standards to regulate the production of vehicular pollutants. It is called BS, ie Bharat Stage. The Central Government introduced BS in the year 2000. It was brought by the Central Pollution Control Board under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, as per various norms and standards. Petrol-diesel engines mainly produce CO2 (carbon dioxide), CO (carbon monoxide), HC (hydrocarbons) and NOx (oxides of nitrogen). Apart from these, PM (Particulate Matter) or Carbon Suit is another product of diesel as well as direct-injection petrol engine.

The use of the BS6 standard has been set as the standard for all engined devices, including motor vehicles that cause air pollution. It is being told that BS6 grade fuel will reduce pollution. BS6 fuel emission standards are stricter than before. As compared to BS4, the NOx level is 25 per cent lower for petrol engines and 68 per cent for diesel engines. Apart from this, the level of HC + NOx of diesel engine has been reduced by 43 per cent and the level of particulate matter by 82 per cent. Modern technology has been used in BS6 engines to reduce these standards of pollution. The introduction of BS6 regulations will reduce carbon emissions. They will own only 20 to 40 MGCM in Perticulate Matter from BS6 fuel. Along with this, BS6 fuel will emit 10 ppm of sulfur.
