12 Indian-5 Bangladeshi trying to cross LoC illegally, BSF detained

New Delhi: The Border Security Force (BSF) has detained 17 people trying to cross the border illegally in Nadia district of West Bengal. These people were crossing the India-Bangladesh border illegally and entering India. Among those taken into custody are five Bangladeshi and 12 Indian nationals.

The BSF issued a statement informing them about the arrest of people entering India. BSF has said in its statement that 5 Bangladeshi and 12 Indian nationals were illegally crossing the border near Ramnagar outpost in Nadia district on Thursday, during which they were detained, including a broker. According to the BSF statement, the captured Indians admitted that they had crossed the border at Benapole to meet their relatives in Bangladesh, and were now returning back to India. Bangladeshis told that they were going to Bengaluru to do their wages.

The BSF said that all the people taken into custody have been handed over to the police of the Hanskhali police station. Meanwhile, BSF on Thursday captured an Indian with 10 cattle while patrolling near Khasmahal outpost, while some others managed to escape.
