Guwahati: Another controversial decision of the foreign authority of Assam has come to the fore. The authority has declared foreigners to Mujibur Rahman, who is currently posted in Punjab, as an assistant sub-inspector in the BSF, and his wife as foreigners by the foreign authority of Jorhat. "We had not received any notice from the foreign authority in the past," said Rahman, a resident of Udaipur-Mikirpatti in Mirapani in Golaghat district bordering Assam-Nagaland.

Recently, when I came home during the holidays, we got a notice declaring the authority as foreign. Rahman said, "The Indian citizenship of me and my wife is beyond doubt. We are genuine Indian citizens. Declaring us foreign only proves that the border police did not properly discharge their duties. He said that he had already approached the Guwahati High Court in the matter. He said, "Neither I nor my wife are scared. We have the land papers of our forefathers in the 1930s.

A Border Police officer filed a report against us in a foreign authority, treating the drunken man as true. The BSF officer, however, refused to name the Border Police officer who filed a false report against him and his wife. He only said that he would talk about the matter after the case is over. Not long ago, the foreign authority of Kamrup district of Assam had declared retired army captain Mohamed Sanaullah as a foreigner, after which Sanaullah was shifted to a prison camp. However, he was later granted bail by the Guwahati High Court. The whole process has been questioned.
