On Sunday morning, the Border Security Force (BSF) shot and killed a Bangladeshi national along the Indo-Bangladesh border in Mankachar.

According to local police reports, the person was shot by the BSF while attempting to smuggle cattle from India to Bangladesh using a bamboo crane. Faridul Islam of Rowmari in Bangladesh's Kurigram District has been identified as the dead. Early on Sunday, BSF soldiers saw a few people attempting to smuggle livestock through the border wall with the help of a bamboo crane, according to the police.

The BSF resorted to fire after questioning them about their identities and attempting to stop them from leaving the place. A bullet hit one of them, injuring them. Despite the BSF's best efforts, he succumbed to his injuries before the medical team arrived.
