Government telecom company BSNL has launched its Internet Telephony (VOIP) service. This service name is WINGS. To use this service, consumers have to install SIP applications on their smart devices such as smartphones, laptops or tablets. Also, it is important to have an internet connection. After this, it will work as a SIP phone. After this, customers will be able to make or receive phone calls from land and mobile phones using the country and abroad from anywhere.

BSNL will provide audio and video calling facility for one year at one-time activation of Rs 1,099. BSNL has said that this service is on the first come, first served basis. Customers can book new connections from July 5 and the service will start from 1 August 2018.

Recently, news came that BSNL could launch ultra high-speed fifth generation or 5G services soon. There are reports that BSNL is working with 5G technology roadmap with multinational vendors such as Nokia, Korean and ZTE. Internet telephony (VOIP) service uses the mobile numbering scheme and IP-based access network of IMS NGN core switches.

Also, BSNL has launched a long-term pre-paid plan. The price of this pack is Rs 1,999, which will give 2 GB of data every day to the user. Unlimited voice calls (excluding Delhi-Mumbai) and 100 SMS each day will be available in the pack. The validity of this pack is 365 days or 12 months. In total, it will get 730 GB of data. This pack will also serve the PRBT to BSNL users. Apart from this, the company does not offer 4G services anywhere except Kerala Circle.
