Reliance Jio, the telecom company that launched the price war in India, is going to enter the field of private companies as well as public sector company BSNL amidst the challenge after the commercial launch of the broadband plan. According to media reports, BSNL may soon launch a triple play plan for its users. In this plan, users can be offered broadband, landline and live TV subscriptions with a single connection. According to media reports, BSNL is talking to the cable operators for this.

According to the media report, Jio GiberTV is offering broadband, landline as well as Jio GigaTV to the users along with JioFiber's plan, which launched its broadband service commercially last month. Currently, both BSNL and Airtel companies are offering landline connection with the broadband plan to their users. If BSNL is successful in partnering with cable TV operators, then soon all three plans can be offered to users with the same connection. Not only this, BSNL can ask cable TV operators to bring a set-top box like Jio ONT box. Broadband connection, as well as TV service, can be accessed through this box.

BSNL has more than 1 crore wired line users in the country at this time. If the company is successful in bringing this triple play plan, then the number of users of the company can be seen increasing in the next few months. Due to this plan of BSNL, other broadband service providers other than Jio can also be challenged. BSNL is talking to cable operators in many cities for this. This plan will mean that users will not have to pay separately for cable TV, broadband and landline.
