New Delhi: Faced with debt and facing cash crisis, BSNL is going through a bad phase. The company is in such a cash crisis that it is unable to pay its employees on time. According to a senior official, the company is unable to pay this month's salary. The official said that the company's monthly earnings are around Rs 1,400 crore. He also has some liabilities, including interest payments on debt.

According to the official, BSNL is facing difficulties in giving salary on 30th August. However, he did not say when the salary will be given. The officer said all these things on the condition of anonymity. P. Abhimanyu, coordinator of AUAB, All India Association of Employees Organizations of BSNL said, 'BSNL owes a lot to the government. The government has been recovering an additional amount of about Rs 400 crore every year from BSNL in the name of pension contribution.

AUAB is also planning to launch a movement across the country to increase the pressure on its demands. Explain that the total number of employees working in BSNL is 1,65,179. About 75 percent of the company's total income is spent on their salary. The company is estimated to be at a loss of Rs 14,000 crore while its total income was Rs 19,308 crore in 2018-19. There is the talk of merging it with another public sector company MTNL.
