New Delhi: The Indian government's big agreement has come amid the ongoing border dispute with China. The central government has admitted that about 53 percent of the devices in Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) mobile network are from two Chinese companies JTE and Huawei. In this case, private companies are in a better position because they import such equipment from many countries.
About 44 per cent of the equipments in BSNL's mobile network is from Chinese company ZTE and 9 per cent from Huawei. Replying to a question, Minister of State for Communications Sanjay Dhotre has informed the Rajya Sabha on Thursday. He said the government does not have data on Chinese telecom gear makers' equipments.
"Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has 44.4 per cent of its mobile network and 9 per cent from Huawei. In this way, 10 per cent of the mobile network of Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) is a 10 per cent share of equipment from Chinese companies. Based on the data, he said Reliance Jio Infocomm is not using any equipment of JTE and Huawei for its services, the PTI report said.
