Lucknow: Sheikh Ubaid Ahmed, who has been working for the party for 20 years, has sent his resignation to BSP supremo Mayawati accusing the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) of occupying the same family. Ahmed has been a former Coordinator of BSP. He has resigned from all posts while writing to the party chief. He has attributed the resignation to the party being run by the same family.

Sheikh Ubaid Ahmed wrote that there is no longer a big leader in the party because of only one family. He has also called Swami Prasad Maurya, who recently left the BJP and joined the SP, party-friendly. He described Maurya as his guru and role model. On the question of contesting elections after resigning, Sheikh Ubaid said he did not want to contest elections but wanted to work for the organization.

According to Sheikh Ubaid Ahmed, BSP is now moving in another direction after deviating from Kanshiram's move. The party is adopting a negative attitude towards Dalits, backward and minorities, which is causing a lot of damage to the party. He said BSP general secretary Satish Chandra Mishra, his wife Kalpana Mishra, son Kapil Mishra along son-in-law Paresh Mishra are running the party. As a result, there is no leader left to talk to Muslims and the backward. At the same time, no one else is being pushed forward for this.
