Budget session Live: Adjournment motion moved in RS on PNB Scam

New Delhi [India], Mar. 05 (NT): As the second inning of the Budget session is underway, the Opposition parties took edges at the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government on recently unearthed banking scams.

Communist Party of India (CPI) national secretary D. Raja and Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Naresh Agarwal on Monday gave adjournment motion notice in the Rajya Sabha over Punjab National Bank (PNB) scam case.

For now, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Vinay Sahasrabuddhe has moved adjournment motion in the Upper House under the act 267 on 'reports of corrupt practices indulged in by relatives of former ministers under tacit protection by ministers'.

 Earlier PM Narendra Modi arrived in parliament, welcomed by BJP Chief Amit Shah and other Union Ministers for Budget Session and all BJP members felicitated PM Modi at Parliament for party's success in recently held Assembly elections in three North Eastern States.

The government has listed a few bills for consideration and passage in both Houses.

In the Lok Sabha, it is going to to bring The Payment of Gratuity (Amendment) Bill, 2017, and The Specific Relief (Amendment) Bill, 2017, on March 5, and The Dentists (Amendment) Bill, 2017, on March 6.

In the Rajya Sabha, the government has tabled The Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill, 2017, and The State Banks (Repeal and Amendment) Bill, 2017, for the first day of the session. (NT)
