The goal of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri-Jan Arogya Yojana (AM PM-JAY), which was introduced in September 2018, is to offer 10.74 crore poor and vulnerable families, who were identified from the Socio-economic Caste Census of 2011 based on specific deprivation and occupation-based criteria, free, affordable, and accessible healthcare services.

The Center's flagship health programme is the first and only fully functional system in the world to offer coverage of Rs. 5 lakh to 80 crore people, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Monday.

The implementation of AB PM-JAY works hand in hand with state-specific health insurance programmes. Accordingly, the number of beneficiaries has increased to almost 14 crore families across various States and Union Territories.
Soon after the President's address, the Economic Survey is scheduled to be presented. On February 1st, Nirmala Sitharaman, the minister of finance, will introduce the Union Budget.
