4-storey building collapses, 2 killed, 5 injured

Mumbai: A four-storey building has collapsed in the Shanti Nagar area of Bhiwandi in Maharashtra.  Two people were killed in the incident, while 5 others are said to be injured. So far 4 people have been evacuated safely. The injured have been admitted to nearby IGM hospital for first aid.

In fact, the column of the building was moving late at night. The building was then rocked. The accident happened before the building was completely empty. While the municipality says it had vacated the building, some people had moved back to the building without permission. Meanwhile, the building collapsed before it was evacuated. Corporation officials, police and fire department have reached the spot. The work of saving people continues. According to information, the building was built six years ago.

According to Bhiwandi Municipality, the building started moving between 7.30 am and 8 pm on Friday evening, after which a call was received in the control room of Bhiwandi Municipal Corporation late at 9.30 pm. Some municipal officials then rushed to the spot and evacuated the building, but some 5 people went back to the building to collect their belongings. The entire building collapsed during this time.
