Varanasi: Two labourers were killed and seven others injured in an accident in Kashi Vishwanath corridor in Varanasi. The corridor is considered to be an ambitious project of PM Narendra Modi. The Varanasi District Collector tweeted that PM Modi himself has called and inquired about the entire matter.

According to reports, the accident took place near the Kashi vishwanath corridor under construction on Tuesday morning. Here, part of the dilapidated two-storey Goenka hostel collapsed. The part of the hostel kitchen collapsed completely. When the incident took place, 8 labourers were sleeping inside. Two labourers were killed and others injured in the accident. The injured have been admitted to the hospital with the help of NDRF. All the labourers are said to be from Malda in West Bengal.

This is the second time in the last 10 days that a dilapidated house has collapsed in kashi vishwanath complex. Earlier on April 23, a wall of a three-storey edifice near Lahorei Group collapsed. Five people were then injured in the accident. Tell us that many houses around kashi vishnnath corridor are years old and dilapidated. Locals believe that dilapidated houses are falling due to vibrations caused by heavy machines engaged in corridor construction work.
