Tiruchirappalli: With the Pongal festival approaching, Jallikattu bull trainers in Tamil Nadu have set ready for training their bulls in the traditional bull-taming sport. Not only Indians, but also foreigners from all around the world, are looking forward to seeing the Tamil Nadu teenagers display their bravery on the arena.
Under the supervision of the district administration and the livestock department, the Jallikattu competition will be placed on January 16 in Suriyur village, near Trichy, on the occasion of the Matupongal (cow festival). The bulls and bull tamers who compete in the competition will be awarded prizes. Jallikkattu tournaments will also be held in the Trichy district's famous Alankanallur, Palamedu, and other locations.
Bulls competing in Jallikatut are trained in various locations in Trichy, including Tiruvasi, Thiruverumbur, Suriyur, Lalgudi, and Manapparai near Manachanallur. "These bulls are a member of our family," one bull trainer commented: "We train our bulls for numerous events and this time we expect to win many prizes."
