Bus accident in Karnataka 11 killed, 3 injured

In Karnataka, eleven people were killed when a private bus collided head-on with a truck at a dargah in Chikkabalpura. At around 12.20 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, a private bus of SKS Travels collided with a Tata Ace mini-truck at Bagahalli near Chintamani. 11 people were killed and three others were injured in this horrific road accident.

Chintamani Rural Police said that all eleven people in Tata Ace died on the spot. The deceased persons were travelling from Chintamani to Dargah in Murugamullah. The bus was on its way from Murugamullah to Bengaluru. The injured have been taken to Chikkabalapura and Kolar district hospitals where they are undergoing treatment.

"The eyewitness said in the report that the driver of the bus was coming at high speed and collided with Tata Ace on the side of the road. Many eyewitnesses complained that private buses heading to Murugamullah run at a very high speed. Chintamani Rural Police Sub-Inspector Jagdish Reddy said that several passengers were killed on the road which has gone to death due to high speed driving. The driver is currently absconding from chance and police are looking for him.
