Odisha: A sudden fire breaks out in bus, scorching death of five, 30 injured

Bhubaneswar: A bus in Ganjam district of Odisha has fallen victim to an accident. Five people died in this accident and 30 people are said to be injured. According to the news agency PTI, a fire broke out in the bus after coming in contact with the electric wire. The condition of some of the injured is extremely critical, who have been admitted to the hospital.

Giving information, the police have told that Chikarada was going from Jangapadu. The accident occurred after coming in contact with the 11 KW power transmission line on the way. People boarding the bus were going to attend a wedding ceremony in a nearby village. After the accident, the local people reached the spot and evacuated the injured from the bus and were admitted to MKCG Medical College, Baharampur.

Giving information about the accident, the Chief Fire Officer has said that after shutting down the power supply of the transmission line, the fire has been controlled and the injured have been taken out of the bus. The police has said that the families of the deceased have been informed about the accident, while the injured are being treated.
