New Delhi: Polling is being held in several states of the country today for bypolls. Polling for 3 Lok Sabha and 29 Assembly seats is scheduled today. Most of the seats are witnessing a direct contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress, while some seats are dominated by regional parties. Talking about Lok Sabha seats, they will vote in Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Mandi in Himachal Pradesh and Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh today.

Talking about 29 assembly seats, voting will be held in five seats in Assam, four in Bengal, three each in Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya and Himachal, two each in Rajasthan, Bihar and Karnataka, one each in Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Maharashtra, Mizoram and Telangana. All the seats will go to the polls today and then the results will be declared after counting of votes on November 2. Now by-elections are being held in many states, but the most talked-about in Madhya Pradesh, where there is a thorn in the arm between the BJP and the Congress. On the one hand, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan himself has held frequent rallies on the field while Congress has also been seen campaigning continuously.

In Madhya Pradesh, the Khandwa Lok Sabha seat is to go to the polls and Raigaon/Prithvipur/Jobat assembly seat is to be voted. Out of these total four seats, 2 are with BJP and 2 with Congress. In Khandwa, the seat has been vacated due to the death of MLAs in Raigaon/Prithvipur and Jobat.
