Damoh:  In the midst of the corona crisis, on April 17, Madhya Pradesh's Damoh Assembly is voting for a by-election. Let us tell you that polling for the Vidhan Sabha constituency of Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh has started from 7 am today. The polling is going on till 7 pm. Assuming the information that comes to the fore, a total of 2 lakh 39 thousand 808 voters are involved in the by-election of Damoh Legislative Assembly. It is being said that these include 1 lakh 24 thousand 345 men and 1 lakh 15 thousand 455 women and 8 third gender voters.

 

 

At the same time, there are 2 thousand 647 voters above the age of 80 and 1 thousand 28 disabled voters among the total voters. With this, the number of service voters is 129 and the number of voters who vote from the postal ballot is 437. Let us also inform you that a total of 22 candidates are in the fray in the Damoh Vidhan Sabha by-election, including 2 women candidates. Today, a total of 359 polling stations will cast their votes.

In this way, one general and expenditure observer, 68 micro observers have been deployed in the sub-election, 1 thousand 448 polling employees and 1 thousand 880 employees including 432 reserve polling employees have been appointed for voting. Before the vote, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has tweeted and made an appeal. In his appeal, he has said, 'During the voting, all should follow the guidelines related to covid-19. Special arrangements have been made at the polling stations regarding corona infection. It is compulsory for every voter to wear a mask. At the polling booth, the voter will be given a hand glove, which he can wear and press the button of EVM. Arrangements will be made for soap and sanitizer at the polling booth to wash hands at the fire and exit gates'.
