Bhopal: Polling has begun at 7 am today amid security arrangements for Khandwa Lok Sabha and Raigaon, Jobat and Prithvipur assembly bypolls in MP. Let me tell you that under the recent information, the polling is going to be held till 6 pm. However, evms have been reported to be damaged at some places in the meantime. Let me tell all of you that voting is underway in Khandwa Lok Sabha elections and assembly seats Raigaon, Jobat and Prithvipur in Madhya Pradesh today. At the same time, it has been reported that EVMs have been damaged at some places.

Let us tell you that the EVMs were switched off due to battery discharge at the polling station at Kathiwada Government Higher Secondary School in the Assembly and due to this, voting was stopped for about half an hour, though voting was started later by charging battery. On the other hand, EVMs were damaged at 4 places in Burhanpur. Let me tell you that voting could start one and a half hours late due to the non-running of EVMs at booths in Doifodia village of the district. With this, voting could start half an hour late as EVMs were not running at indira colony booth in the city. Polling was delayed by one hour due to the non-running of EVMs at booths in Village Patonda. At the same time, there was a technical glitch in the EVMs at Ruikar Ward polling station in Burhanpur.

Let us also inform you that a total of 2908 polling stations have been set up in Khandwa Parliamentary Constituency. Similarly, 306 polling stations have been set up in Prithvipur, 313 in Raigaon and 417 in Jobat. That is, there are a total of 3944 polling stations. 865 polling stations are sensitive in the list. With this, webcasting at 874 polling stations and CCTV surveillance at 361 polling stations will be carried out. There are a total of 10,027 'balloting units', including reserve units. There are 5517 control units and 5886 VVPAT units. Let me tell you that the corona guideline is being followed during the polling and counting will take place on 2nd November.
